William J. Torpey Memorial Scholarship Fund

Founded in 2008, the Propeller Club of the United States- Port of Narragansett Bays Educational Fund was founded to assist students who are pursuing careers related to the Maritime Industry and that support The Propeller Club’s Purpose, “To promote, further and support an American Merchant Marine, to aid the development of river, Great Lakes and harbor improvements, and to maintain a program of public relations, education and good will among exporters and importers and the public in general.”

The William J. Torpey Memorial Scholarship period is currently closed. When it re-opens, all students in fields related to the maritime industry and promotion of the merchant marine are encouraged to apply. We look forward to rewarding the hard work of those in the upcoming maritime careers generation again soon!
